Cub Scout Dens

The Lion Den (Kindergarten, Age 5/6)

A Lion den is a group of usually six to eight kindergarten age children who meet together to participate in the  Lion program with their adult partners. This den participates in two den meetings monthly and the monthly pack meeting.

It’s a chance to create memories that will last a lifetime, and build a stronger family while you enjoy the Scouting program with other families.

The Tiger Cub Den (Grade 1, Age 6/7)

Parents are directly involved at the Tiger Cub level. The scout and their parent or guardian join the den together and attend all meetings and activities together.

The den is made up of three to eight of these parent-scout teams. Each den also has a Tiger Cub den leader (usually one of the parents) who helps coordinate the meetings. The den has three meetings a month at our charter organization facility, participates in one “Go See It” activity (the den, as a group, visits a community place of interest), and attends the monthly pack meeting.

The Wolf Cub Scout Den (Grade 2, Age 7/8)

This den meets weekly; adults are still involved, but the scouts become more capable of taking part in the responsibilities. The Wolf Den attends and participates in pack activities, including monthly pack meetings.

Bear Cub Scout Den (Grade 3, Age 8/9)

This den participates in weekly den meetings and are encouraged to do several community related activities. The Bear Den attends and participates in pack activities, including monthly pack meetings.

The Webelos I Scout Den (Grade 4, Age 9/10)

The Webelos I scouts have weekly meetings, usually with the Webelos II scouts. The Webelos I scouts are now the “Upper Classmen” of Cub Scouts; they are encouraged to take on more responsibilities individually as well as pack role models. These scouts generally team up with the Webelos II scouts and take part in several Webelos- only activities in the larger scouting community. The scouts of Webelos I start to transition into Scouts BSA by learning about the Scouts BSA specifics and are encouraged to do activities with a scouting troop. The Webelos I scouts attend and participate in pack activities, including monthly pack meetings.

Arrow of Light (AOL) Den (Grade 5 Age 10/11)

Arrow of Light scouts have weekly meetings. The AOL scouts are now the “Senior Class” of Cub Scouts; They are expected to be well versed in what  Scouts are and begin the final transition into this change. The AOL scouts take part in Webelos-only activities in the greater scouting community and should be spending more time with a Scouts BSA troop.
The AOL scouts attend and participate in pack activities, including monthly pack meetings.
